Wildlife Safaris
Tanzania
Experience the abundant wildlife of Tanzania as you embark on this short safari to the Northern circuit that begins straight in Serengeti National Park. With a private guide, visit Tanzania’s top National Parks - Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater—where you can see hundreds of animal species including lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, giraffes, and various bird species.
Our safari representative will pick you up from Seronera Airport and proceed with a game drive in the Serengeti National Park. This 14,763 km² (5,700 sq mi) park is known for the largest annual animal migration in the world, featuring over 1.5 million blue wildebeests and 250,000 zebras, along with smaller herds of Thomson's gazelle and eland.
Enjoy game drives, then head to the central park area, known as the Seronera. This area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source and attracts a wide variety of wildlife representative of most Serengeti species. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive until sunset.
Note: Flight from Zanzibar to Serengeti is excluded.
Wake up early for breakfast, then start your full-day game drives inside Serengeti. Our driver-guide will track the wildebeest migration, which varies each year. The best chance of seeing it is during June to September, while the wildebeest calving occurs from January to March. During July to September, our driver will take you to the northern Serengeti to witness the great wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River. Over a million of these ungulates trek throughout the year in search of fresh grazing and follow rainfall patterns.
After your full-day game drive, head back to your accommodation.
Wake up early for breakfast, then head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend 600 meters to the crater floor for a game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater hosts numerous species, with almost half being wildebeests and zebras. Other common sights include buffaloes, elephants, hippos, hyenas, jackals, lions, ostriches, servals, warthogs, elands, and vast herds of gazelles. This is the only place you can spot all the Big Five animals (lions, cheetahs, elephants, leopards, and black rhinos) on a single game drive.
For bird lovers, there are countless pink flamingos covering the alkaline lakes in the valley, and more than 100 bird species not found in the Serengeti inhabit this conservation area.
You will have a picnic lunch at the hippo pool or alongside the lake on the crater floor, soaking up the scenery. After lunch, drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight.
Wake up and be dropped off at Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home.
Optional activities at an extra cost: Visit Lake Manyara National Park or Mto wa Mbu, depending on your flight schedule.
Enjoy your unforgettable safari in Tanzania!
